Annual Cornhusker Trapshoot to Begin Thursday

Cornhusker Trap ShootingDONIPHAN, Neb. (AP) — The 45th annual Cornhusker Trapshoot is scheduled to begin its three-day run on Thursday in Doniphan at the home grounds of the Nebraska Trapshooting Association.

More than 2,000 trapshooters are expected to compete.

There will be individual and team competitions. Junior high students will shoot at 100 targets on Thursday. High school competitors will shoot at 75 targets on Friday and 75 more targets on Saturday.

The event is open to shooters nationwide in grades 6 through 12. Last year’s event drew 888 junior and 1,365 senior high shooters.

The association home grounds sit three miles south of Interstate 80 Exit 312 on U.S. Highway 281.
