LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska associate head coach Sunny Smallwood is returning to Boise State, her alma mater, to take a similar job on its women’s basketball staff.
Boise State announced Smallwood’s hiring Tuesday. Smallwood spent nine years as an assistant on Connie Yori’s staff at Nebraska, including the past six seasons as associate head coach. Boise State’s head coach is Gordy Presnell.
Smallwood graduated from Boise State in 1983. She began her coaching career by spending seven years at Boise High School from 1983-90. She had coaching jobs at Washington State, Washington and California before joining Yori at Nebraska.
Yori said the search to replace Smallwood is underway.
