A North Platte man has been charged with a felony after he allegedly kicked his girlfriend in the stomach.

According to Officer Rodney Brown, officers responded to the report of a domestic disturbance in the 1000 block of West 4th Street at around 7:15 p.m., on Saturday.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 34-year-old female victim and several witnesses, who alleged that 34-year-old Shawn Howard had kicked the victim in the stomach.

She was later transported to Great Plains Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Howard, who had a previous conviction for domestic assault, was charged with felony 3rd degree domestic assault.

He was transported to the Lincoln County Detention Center and jailed.
