Eva Marie Weber Munnell, 82, of North Platte, NE, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Centennial Park Retirement Village in North Platte.
Eva was born December 17, 1931, to Cecil LeRoy and Helen Marie Nicholson Wonch at Lantree, SD. She grew up in Arnold, NE and graduated from Arnold High School. On June 5, 1945, Eva married Maynard H. Weber at Arnold and they made their home in North Platte. To this union four children, Shirley, Patricia, Gene and Gary, were born. Maynard and Eva enjoyed camping together. He passed away in 1986. Eva later married Dale Eugene Munnell on February 10, 1990. He preceded her in death in 2003.
Eva’s life centered around her relationship to God and her family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When Eva was younger, she enjoyed cooking and making Christmas candy. Later, she liked to visit with her friends, go out to restaurants and travel. While in the nursing home she enjoyed visits with Pastor Gary Goodwin of the First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her sons, Gene (Vicki) Weber, of North Platte and Gary (Vickie) Weber, of Sutherland, NE; a daughter, Patricia (Ron) Sivits, of Maxwell, NE; her son-in-law, Mike Torres, of North Platte; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy (Albert) Phillips, of Houston, TX and Carolyn Schneider, of North Platte; and many nieces, nephews and other family.
Along with her husbands, Maynard Weber and Dale Munnell, Eva was preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Torres; her parents, Cecil and Helen Wonch; two brothers, James and LeRoy Wonch; and a brother-in-law, Red Schneider.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Gary Goodwin and Pastor Lee Wonch officiating. Burial will follow in Fort McPherson National Cemetery. Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore. Condolences may also be shared at odeanchapel.com.
