MITCHELL, Neb. (AP) — A teenage girl has been killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash in western Nebraska.
Authorities say the 17-year-old girl was driving the vehicle when it went off a county road northeast of Mitchell around 7 p.m. Tuesday and rolled.
The girl was partially ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. A 20-year-old male passenger was taken to a Scottsbluff hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
Officials have not yet released the identities of the girl or the man. Investigators say neither was wearing a seat belt, and officials are investigating whether alcohol use was a factor in the crash.
