A North Platte woman is being charged with a felony after she allegedly stole from a local business.

At around 5:20 p.m., on June 13, North Platte Police responded to Gary’s Super Foods, 1620 East 4th Street.

A witness reported seeing a woman conceal an item in her purse and leave without paying for it.

Police say video surveillance was reviewed, and probable cause was established to arrest 31-year-old Stacy Lingar.

Lingar was contacted and placed under arrest for theft by shoplifting.  Because of two 2013 convictions for theft, the charge was enhanced to a felony.

Authorities say the value of the item Lingar stole was $4.98.  They did not identify the item.
