A 48-year-old North Platte man is facing a felony charge after he allegedly assaulted a man Sunday evening.
At around 8:45 p.m., on June 22, officers with the North Platte Police Department responded to a disturbance at Elms Lodge, 1200 East 4th Street.
Upon arrival, a 38-year-old female resident told officers that Gregory Jolley had come to her apartment and had gotten upset after discovering she was with another male.
The victim reported that Jolley charged into the apartment, punched the 41-year-old male in the face and placed him in a choke hold.
Officer Rodney Brown said the female was eventually able to pry Jolley’s hold from the victim’s neck.
Following further investigation, officers determined that there was probable cause to arrest Jolley and charge him with felony strangulation and 3rd degree assault.
He was jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
