OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of an officer who was stabbed by a man at a convenience store in northeast Omaha.
Police say the officer was attacked Thursday afternoon while responding to a trespassing disturbance at the store.
The officer was identified Friday as 51-year-old Sophia Jordan, who has almost 15 years on the force.
Twenty-nine-year-old Gary Jackson, of Omaha, was arrested. He remained in Douglas County Jail on Friday, pending charges of attempted murder and use of a weapon. Online court records don’t list the name of his lawyer in the case.
