Season Ends for First Nationals Seniors

first-nationalsThe season has ended for the North Platte First Nationals following a 9-6 loss to Hastings Monday night.

The First Nationals held a three-run lead for nearly four innings, until a two-run home run by Alex Panganiban brought Hastings within one run in the fifth.

Hastings went on to add two more runs is the sixth, and the game was tied at six heading into the ninth inning.

Hastings would put three runs on the board in the ninth, and the First Nationals were unable to answer.

With the win, Hastings advances to the championship game against Kearney, which will be played  today at 4:00 p.m., at Bill Wood Field.

The district champion will advance to the National Division State Tournament in Grand Island, and the runner-up will move on to the American Division State Tournament in Omaha.

Hastings will need to beat Kearney twice to win the district.
