The loving and generous spirit of Millie Grosh, a long –term resident of North Platte, NE and later of Sun City West, AZ, was released to the heavens on July 30th, 2014. She made her passage at her home in Sun City West, AZ, surrounded by loving family.
Millie was born on May 30th 1927 to Cora McNeel Yates and Ben Yates in Lexington, NE. Later the family moved to a farm in North Platte, NE and in 1944 she graduated from North Platte High School. On June 6th 1955 she married Roger Grosh; they opened the Intercontinental Bus Depot Café and proceeded to become prominent restaurateurs and business people in town. They owned and managed many restaurants in town, including Tucker’s Restaurant and Lounge and Roger’s Fine Foods. At one time in their busy lives they were managing seven restaurants in North Platte at the same time. In later life Millie and Roger split their time between North Platte and Sun City West, where they enjoyed golfing, bridge, and other social activities.
Following Roger’s death Millie and her significant other Crump Redding continued to alternate time between Nebraska and Sun City West. They spent summers in Alma, NE where they enjoyed the lake and all of the social activities of its perimeter. For the last several years Millie resided in her home in Sun City West, AZ, near her sister Florence Peterson year round.
She is survived by her siblings Helen Higginbotham of North Platte, Florence Peterson of Sun City West, Raymond Yates of North Platte, Louise Houghtelling of Allyn, WA, and many grateful nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roger, significant other Crump Redding, and several nieces and nephews.

Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
