OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A Nebraska judge has doubled a jailed man’s bond to $2 million after he was charged in a second drive-by shooting that wounded a 6-year-old girl celebrating her birthday.

The judge set the new bond Tuesday. Prosecutors say 20-year-old Willie Strickland fired into an Omaha home on June 5 and hit the girl in the face. He is charged with use of a deadly weapon at an occupied dwelling.

Strickland has been in the Douglas County Jail on charges from a separate shooting in May. The bond for each charge is $1 million.

The girl’s grandmother says the child survived the shooting after going through several surgeries.

Online jail records didn’t indicate an attorney.
