Nebraska State Patrol Welcomes State Fair Visitors

NSPSafety information and giveaways will once again be provided by the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) to visitors during the Nebraska State Fair, August 22- Sept. 1, at Fonner Park in Grand Island.

The NSP exhibit is located in the 4H & FFA Exhibition building on the north end of the State Fair grounds. The exhibit will include safety information and giveaways with special emphasis on safe driving practices in an effort to reduce the potential for serious injury and fatality crashes. The booth will be staffed by both sworn and civilian members of the agency.

“The Nebraska State Patrol is excited to be a part of the State Fair experience,” said Colonel David Sankey, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “We look forward to visiting with fairgoers as we spread our safety message in an effort to save lives on our roadways.”

The Nebraska State Patrol will again provide on-site law enforcement security 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the two weeks of the fair. Troopers will patrol the fairground utilizing a variety of means to include bicycles and all-terrain vehicles. The Nebraska State Patrol Security Office is located in the Fonner Park Racing Office for fairgoers in need of law enforcement assistance.
