Nebraskan Dies in Crash Involving 3 Vehicles

fatal-accidentCLARKS, Neb. (AP) — Authorities say a 25-year-old Clarks woman has been killed in a traffic accident involving three vehicles.

The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. Monday, about a mile west of Clarks in Merrick County.

Merrick County Attorney Lynelle Homolka says Heather Stroud was headed east on U.S. Highway 30 when her vehicle was struck from behind by a semitrailer driven by 47-year-old James Horton, of Roseland. Homolka says the impact knocked Stroud’s vehicle into the westbound lane, where it was struck by an oncoming car.

Stroud was killed. The driver of the oncoming car, who wasn’t identified, was injured. No injuries to Horton have been reported.

The accident is being investigated.
