LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A 19-year-old has been given prison time for trying to rob two Lincoln convenience stores, including one with police officers inside.

Shaquille Adams was sentenced Monday to nine to 18 years in prison on charges of robbery and attempted robbery. He will be eligible for parole in about four years.

Police say Adams pointed a BB gun on clerks and demanded money at two Kwik Shops in February.

During the second incident, Adams and an accomplice entered the store and discovered two Lincoln police officers inside. The officers ultimately caught them and a getaway driver.
