The North Platte Community Playhouse has announced the cast for the first production of their 2014/2015 season, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a musical comedy that centers on a fictional spelling bee at Putnam County Middle School. Six quirky adolescents compete in the Bee, run by three equally quirky grown-ups. In an unusual twist, four real audience members will be invited to the stage to compete in the Bee alongside the six young characters. The Broadway production was nominated for six Tony Awards.
The production is directed by Darrell Drullinger.
Performance dates for the production are September 27 and 28, and October 3, 4 and 5, 2014. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8:00 p.m., and Sunday matinees begin at 2:00 p.m.
Tickets will go on sale Monday, September 22, and will be available at the Playhouse Box Office Monday-Friday from Noon-5:00 p.m., online at www.northplattecommunityplayhouse.com or at the door prior to each performance.
Tickets are $15 for Adults and $8 for children and students.
Season memberships are also available. The cost is $50 for Adults and $25 for Students.
