Della Mae Fisher, 84, of North Platte, NE, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Linden Court in North Platte.

Della was born May 2, 1930, to Fred and AnnaDelia Thompson Dircksen in North Platte where she grew up and attended school.

On March 12, 1947, Della married LeRoy Gene Fisher at North Platte where they made their home. Della worked at W.T. Grants and later Ben Franklin’s and was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Della liked to sew and quilt. She loved her family and liked spending time with grandchildren. She and LeRoy also enjoyed the lake and built a cabin at the Mill Isle Boat Club where they could spend time with their family.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Ray) Chrisman, Doug (Peggy) Fisher and Karen (Byron) Perkins, all of North Platte; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Karl) Francis, Brian (Amanda) Jones, Luke (Cora) Fisher, Jake Fisher, Jesse (Kara) Perkins, Ellie Perkins and Jed Perkins; eight great-grandchildren, Blake, Kole, Skyler, Jackson and Boston Jones, Greta Francis and Isaac and Simon Fisher.

Survivors also include her sisters, Juanita (Blaine) Smith and Lavughan (George ‘Bunk’) Odean, all of North Platte, Patricia Singletary, of McCook, NE, Annabelle (Don) Brooks, of Cedar Hill, TX and Reta (Bill) Cresswell, of Graham, TX; three brothers, Jim Dircksen and Fred (Sherry) Dircksen, all of North Platte and Lee (Shirley) Dircksen, of Vancouver, WA; a sister-in-law, Donna Dircksen, of North Platte; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other family.

Della was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; parents, Fred and AnnaDelia Dircksen; a brother, Lawrence ‘Ole’ Dircksen and three infant brothers.

Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Frank Fitch III officiating. The memorial book can be signed at odeanchapel.com or from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
