1 Man Killed in Overnight Shooting in Lincoln

lincoln-policeLINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Police in Lincoln are investigating an overnight shooting that left one man dead.

21-year-old Maurice Lamont Williams died after he was shot with a handgun just before 1 a.m. Saturday. Police say the shooting happened inside LionsGate Apartments, where Williams lived.

Capt. Bob Farber says police received reports of the shooting just after 1 a.m. When officers arrived at the apartment, they found Williams with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Bryan West Campus in Lincoln, where he died.

Police were still interviewing witnesses and trying to get more information on Saturday.

Farber asked anyone with information to contact police.
