LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — The governor is encouraging Nebraska to fly their flags at half-staff Thursday in observance of Patriot Day.
Patriot Day honors the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist strikes in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.
Gov. Dave Heineman has ordered flags lowered at all state buildings and facilities.
“I hope all Nebraskans join me in remembering those we lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and in honoring their sacrifices,” the governor said.
