A North Platte woman has been charged with a felony after she allegedly stole medication from her place of employment.

At around 10:32 a.m., on September 11, an officer with the North Platte Police Department responded to Centennial Park Retirement Village, 510 Centennial Circle, on the report of a theft of medication.

According to Investigator John Deal, staff members suspected that an employee, 27-year-old Chelsey Osborn, was stealing medication from residents.

Deal said it was suspected that Osborn was logging that residents were requesting Hydrocodone when they hadn’t.

She would then allegedly log that she had given the medication to the resident, and take them herself.

The officer met with Osborn and, following questioning, determined that this had been taking place for several months.

Osborn was placed under arrest and charged with theft and felony possession of hydrocodone.

She was jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
