BTN Announces TV Basketball Schedule

Nebraska-Huskers-BasketballLincoln – A minimum of 13 men’s basketball games will air across Big Ten Network platforms this season, as BTN announced its 2014-15 broadcast schedule Tuesday.

The BTN schedule includes 11 games aired on BTN and available nationally, including basic cable channels across the Big Ten region, and two games online on BTN Plus, which is a subscription-based service available on computers, smartphones and tablets as part of the BTN2Go app.

The Huskers’ first BTN appearance of the season will be on Sunday, Dec. 7, when Creighton makes its first visit to Pinnacle Bank Arena. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. central. The Huskers’ other non-conference appearance will be on Saturday, Dec. 13, when the Huskers host the Cincinnati Bearcats. Tipoff for that game is at 8 p.m. central.

During Big Ten play, the Huskers will make a minimum of nine BTN appearances, beginning with the Big Ten opener against Indiana on New Year’s Eve. Tipoff time for the only matchup between the Huskers and Hoosiers will be set in early December. Other BTN games include two contests against Illinois (Jan. 11 and March 4) and Minnesota (Jan. 20 and Jan. 31) as well as contests at Iowa (Jan. 5), vs. Northwestern (Feb. 3), at Purdue (Feb. 15) and at Maryland (Feb. 19).   In addition, other games could be selected by BTN during its Wildcard Weekends on Feb. 21-22 and March 8-9.  BTN is available in more than 60 million homes in the U.S. and Canada.

The two BTN Plus games, which are live games produced by students at Big Ten universities as part of its Student U initiative, will be the exhibition game against Southwest Minnesota State on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m., and the season opener against Northern Kentucky on Sunday, Nov. 16.  The start time for the Nebraska-Northern Kentucky game will be announced at a later date.

Other previously announced conference games included the Super Tuesday games at Michigan (Jan. 27) and vs. Wisconsin (Feb. 10), while CBS and ESPN are expected to announce their selections in the near future.  The remainder of the television and internet packages by Big Ten television and Internet partners will be available in the coming day. All 18 Husker Big Ten conference games will be televised nationally on BTN or the Big Ten’s other television partners.
