The crashing and bashing action ignited the fans in the stands at the Second Annual ‘Clean-Up’ Demolition Derby on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln County Raceway in North Platte, Nebraska.

Gibbon’s Brent Burr and Mike Kamler of Hastings were the last ones remaining to earn the top honors in the two divisions that took to the pit for crashing action.

Brent Burr of Gibbon won the crown in the full-sized cars feature in his Chrysler Newport. Finishing second and third behind Burr were Josh Evans and Luke Evans, both of Bertrand. Luke Evans lost the use of his right front wheel in the early going, but it wasn’t enough to disable the Imperial of Evans.

Earning fourth place honors was Bobby Gillming of Gibbon in his bowtie displaying Chevy Impala. Finishing fifth overall was Lexington veteran Justin Nitsch.

The winner of the four-cylinder division was Hastings’ hotshoe Mike Kamler with his Mercury Zephyr. Taking home runner-up honors was North Platte’s Joey Schultz in a Ford Pinto. Rounding out the podium finishers was Ainsley Swan of Gothenburg.
