Nebraska Man Dies After Truck Rear-Ended by SUV

fatal-accidentRAYMOND, Neb. (AP) — An 18-year-old Lincoln man is facing charges because police say he caused a rollover crash that killed one man and injured two other people.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s office said the crash happened shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday on Highway 77 near Raymond.

The 18-year-old was driving a Honda Pilot that rear-ended a Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck with three people inside.

The impact sent the truck into a ditch where it rolled several times.

A passenger in the truck, 50-year-old Randall Woita of Weston, was killed.

The driver, 42-year-old Tamara Theye of Kearney, and another passenger, 18-year-old Rhea Woita of Wahoo, were both taken to a Lincoln hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Lincoln man is suspected of felony motor vehicle homicide, reckless driving and driving under the influence of drugs.
