OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Omaha police say a 16-year-old boy was fatally shot minutes after he got off of his school bus.
Burke High School junior Johntavious Swift was shot Wednesday on his way home from school. He was taken to an area hospital where he later died.
Witness Mindy Burns tells the Omaha World-Herald she heard at least 10 gunshots. She says she applied pressure to the wound to stop the bleeding while waiting on first responders.
No arrests have been announced.
Police are investigating and have asked for the public’s help. They say witnesses at the scene provided conflicting information.
