LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Lincoln police have arrested a man who they say escaped from officers after being handcuffed at an elementary school.
The 32-year-old man was visiting his daughter at Prescott Elementary School when officers attempted to make the arrest. The man was wanted for questioning in a disturbance and a theft from earlier in the month.
Officers say he broke free while being escorted to the police car and they chased him on foot. They set up a perimeter and a K-9 unit later found the man hiding in an area garage.
He was cited for escape, criminal mischief and trespassing.
