Bank Offers $100 Bonus to 200 New College Accounts

first-national-bankOMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Two hundred Nebraska families that start college savings accounts this fall will receive a $100 boost.

First National Bank of Omaha says it hopes the payments will encourage people to start saving for college while their kids are young.

New accounts for children ages 8 or younger will qualify for the bonuses.

First National is the program manager for Nebraska’s NEST 529 college savings accounts that offer tax breaks to people saving for college. More details are available online at www.NEST529.com .
