A 60-year-old Maxwell man has been charged with 1st degree murder in his wife’s death.
On April 26, 2014, deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a farm accident south of Maxwell.
It had been reported that 52-year-old Heidi Craig was pinned under a large round hay bale inside her barn.
Emergency personnel arrived on the scene, and discovered that Heidi’s husband, Emerson Craig, had removed the bale from her body, but she was already dead.
Deputies began an investigation into Heidi’s death, including an autopsy.
On October 28, deputies arrested Emerson, and charged him with 1st degree murder in connection with Heidi’s death.
Emerson was jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
Authorities did not release any additional information.
