INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The NCAA Board of Directors is asking school leaders to present a more diverse list of potential committee members as it starts reshaping its governance structure.
Board members were expected to vote Thursday on candidates for the new committee, called the Council. But the board was not satisfied with the diversity of the pool. With the Council scheduled to begin work in January, the NCAA says the board will conduct a final vote next month.
Chairman Nathan Hatch, the president at Wake Forest, says a more diverse Council will lead to “better decisions” for the NCAA.
