NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) — One person has died in a car crash on Interstate 80 in central Nebraska.
The crash happened Friday afternoon in the eastbound lanes of the interstate, just east of North Platte.
The Nebraska State Patrol says the person killed was the only one of five in the car who had not been wearing a seat belt at the time of the 5 p.m. crash.
Two others in the car were taken to a North Platte hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the person killed, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
