Nebraska Traffic Stops Lead to Meth, Marijuana Arrests

state-patrol-logoTroopers with the Nebraska State Patrol seized methamphetamine and marijuana in three separate traffic stops on Interstate 80 over the weekend.

At approximately 10:45 p.m., Friday, Nov. 14, a trooper stopped an eastbound 2008 Chevy Impala for speeding on I-80 just west (mm398) of the Lincoln Airport Exit in Lancaster County. The trooper was given consent to search the vehicle. The search led to the seizure of 23.3 lbs. of methamphetamine. The drugs contained in 18 packages were located in a hidden compartment in the vehicle. The methamphetamine has an estimated street value of one million dollars.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, Omar Alexis Barguez Perez, 35, of Bellflower, Calif., was lodged in the Lancaster County Corrections on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.

Just before 3:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 14, a trooper stopped an eastbound Nissan Maxima for speeding on I-80 near the Hampton Exit in Hamilton County. An NSP canine indicated the odor of drugs coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search led to the seizure of 27 lbs. of marijuana. The marijuana was located in three duffle bags in the trunk of the car.

The driver of the vehicle, Kristopher Krey, 40, of Round Lake, Ill., and two passengers in the vehicle, Mai Krey (FM), 45, of Round Lake, Ill., and Alexander Henson, 30, of McHenry, Ill, were each lodged in the Hamilton County Jail on charges of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver.

Around 11:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 14, a trooper stopped an eastbound 2013 Chevy Impala for speeding on I-80 in Keith County. The trooper was given consent to search the vehicle. The search led to the seizure of 20 lbs. of marijuana. The marijuana was located in two garbage bags in the trunk of the vehicle.

The driver of the car, John A. Certeza, 38, of Fairfield, Calif., and a passenger in the vehicle, Visakhane Nhothsiri (M), 30, of Ceres, Calif., were each lodged in the Keith County Jail on a charge of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver.
