Nebraska Family Helps Catch Man on Thanksgiving

state-patrol-logoHENDERSON, Neb. (AP) — One Nebraska family spent part of their Thanksgiving helping authorities apprehend a 21-year-old man who had fled into the small town of Henderson to avoid a traffic stop on Interstate 80.

Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins said the incident began Thursday morning when a black motorcycle was going 82 mph in a 75 mph zone.

Collins says the motorcycle driver refused to stop and fled into Henderson.

Matt Siebert says his family noticed the influx of state troopers who spent about an hour searching for the driver and towed away his abandoned motorcycle.

Later, Siebert and his 17-year-old son spotted a man who appeared to be looking for the motorcycle before running. Siebert and his son followed and eventually helped talk the man into surrendering.
