STANTON, Neb. (AP) — A registered sex offender in northeast Nebraska faces up to 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old.

Stanton County officials say 41-year-old John Suing of Wynot entered the plea on Monday to a first-degree sexual assault of a minor charge.

Deputies say he assaulted the teenager near Woodland Park after they met on social media. They say Suing was on probation at the time.

Suing is scheduled to be sentenced in February.
