A 35-year-old North Platte man has been jailed on felony charges following an alleged assault on his girlfriend.

At around 10:45 a.m., on December 3, an officer with the North Platte Police Department responded to the report of a domestic assault.

A 20-year-old female alleged that her boyfriend, Jeremy Nelsen, had assaulted her following an argument.

The victim stated that, after the argument, she attempted to leave the residence in the 1200 block of West 11th Street, at which time she claims Nelsen began pushing her before pushing her onto a sofa.

She alleged that Nelsen then choked her.

Officers located Nelsen and placed him under arrest.

He’s been charged with felony 3rd degree domestic assault and felony strangulation.

Nelsen was jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
