Minnesota Prosecutors Want Public Files Sealed

Lincoln StarsMOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota prosecutors are trying to block public access to court documents detailing the case of two Nebraska hockey players accused of making a sex tape with a minor.

Assistant Clay County Attorney Pam Harris has filed a motion accusing the defense of attempting to bypass a gag order and make files accessible to the public. She has filed a motion asking the judge to seal evidence and prevent more from being filed until a January hearing.

Thomas Carey and Brandon Smith are accused filming a sex video with a 15-year-old girl in a Moorhead hotel when they were both 19. KFGO-AM (http://bit.ly/12JvIYg ) reports the indefinitely suspended Lincoln Stars players are charged with using a minor in a sexual performance, possession of child pornography and distributing pornography.

Attorneys from both sides are unable to comment due to the gag order.
