Omaha Man Hospitalized After Shooting Near Park

omaha-policeOMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Authorities say a man has been hospitalized after someone shot him near an Omaha park.

Omaha police say the victim, whose identity wasn’t released, was shot just before 6 p.m. Monday next to Norwick Park.

Lt. Matthew Lippold says the man is estimated to be in his early to mid-40s and was taken to the hospital, where he’s in critical condition.

Lippold tells the Omaha World-Herald the man was alone in the park when he was shot. Lippold couldn’t say how many times the man was shot or where he was shot. No arrests have been made yet.

Meanwhile, officials identified 20-year-old Terence Butler as the man who was critically injured following a drive-by shooting early Monday morning outside an Omaha home.
