Three people have been charged following an altercation in North Platte over the weekend.
At around 5:50 a.m., on February 8, officers from the North Platte Police department responded to a residence in the 300 block of South Walnut Street, on the report of a physical fight between multiple subjects.
Officers arrived and met with a 30-year-old male, who alleged that 47-year-old Roberto Benetiz-Cedillo, 46-year-old Jacqueline Benetiz-Cedillo and another man came to his home and began assaulting him.
According to the victim, 20-year-old Jacob Iyotte, of Saint Francis, South Dakota, was also present, and was also assaulted by the trio.
Officer Rodney Brown said the threesome may have been upset about an earlier altercation.
The victim went on to say that, during the altercation, he and Iyotte were punched and struck multiple times with a pool cue, which officers later recovered in Roberto’s car.
Another victim, an 18-year-old female, alleged that as she attempted to get out of a vehicle and leave, Iyotte reached through an open window and stabbed her in the arm with a “four-finger knuckleduster,” which is essentially brass knuckles with three blades that run perpendicular to the handle.
Following further investigation, Roberto Benetiz-Cedillo was charged with felony 2nd degree assault, Jacqueline Benetiz-Cedillo was charged with 3rd degree assault, and Iyotte was charged with felony 2nd degree assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
