Joan K. “Jodi” Craig, 75, of North Platte, passed away Feb. 11, 2015 at the Sutherland Care Center. She was born in the family home in Arnold, NE to Bert and Blanche (Daniels) Troyer on July 21, 1939. She attended schools in Portland, Oregon, Arnold Elementary, Pleasant Hill Country School and graduated with the class of 1957 at Arnold High School. On March 6, 1960, Jodi was married to David A. Craig in the Methodist Church in North Platte. Many years were spent volunteering, being a Cub Scout den mother, Campfire leader, president of Great Plains Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, baking cupcakes for the PTA and other organizations. She received a life membership pin to the PTA for her dedication to that group. She was past president of the Junior Oldtimers. She was also an active member of United Methodist Women. She attended classes at North Platte Community College and then was employed for a number of years at Internal Medicine Associates. Jodi was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Roy Troyer; and a brother-in-law, Gearld Steele. She is survived by her husband, Dave of North Platte; four children, Todd (Abby) Craig of California, Christine (Stan) Chmiel of Greeley, CO, David M. (Nancy) Craig of Colorado and Deb (Gale) Luenenborg of North Platte; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Anderson, Dr. Charley (Jennifer) Craig, Sarah (Kody) Amor, Erica Chmiel, Craig (Cassi) Wieland, Annie (Geoff) Hughes, Jacob Craig, Jared Craig and Emily Luenenborg; 11 great grandchildren; her sister, Louise Steele; and a sister-in-law, Diane Finch Oerter. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Douglas A. Delp officiating. Burial will be at North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
