KEARNEY, Neb. – The Tri-City Storm got their revenge on the Lincoln Stars after Friday night’s shootout loss with a 3-1 win on Saturday night at the Viaero Event Center.

Vince Pedrie’s first Storm goal turned out to be the game-winner, while defenseman Kevin Kerr and forward Nick Master also contributed with tallies in the victory.

With the win, Tri-City improved their home record in Kearney to 16-3-2. The Storm now have 60 points, and are the second-best team in the USHL, two points behind Sioux City.

Goaltender Alec Dillon made 15 saves, allowing just one goal to pick up his 18th win of the season.

The Storm came out of the gate slowly and fell behind 1-0 on a goal by Biagio Lerario at 13:32 of the first period. Assists on the tally went to Chris Dodero and Miguel Fidler, and Tri-City took the deficit into the first intermission.

But the team came out firing in the middle frame, scoring twice while outshooting the Stars 20-2.

Kerr got Tri-City on the board with his fifth goal of the season at 13:31 of the period off a pass from forward Jake Wahlin. Team captain Garrett Gamez picked up the second assist on the tying goal.

Minutes later, Pedrie rocketed a shot past Lincoln netminder Cam Hackett and gave the Storm their first lead of the night at 2-1. Assists were credited to forwards Conner Valesano and Nolan Aibel.

Master gave the Storm the insurance goal they were looking for on the power play at 11:13 of the third period. The tally was the Broomall, Penn. native’s second man-advantage goal of the weekend, and came off a perfect passing play from Mason Appleton along with Gamez.

Both Master and Gamez reached the 30-point mark on the season, while Appleton is one shy with nine goals and 20 assists for 29 points.

Tri-City ended with 39 shots on net, while Lincoln only managed 16.

Tri-City will finish their three-game weekend on Sunday afternoon in Sioux City at 3:05 p.m.
