Thomas J. McQuade, 67, of North Platte, passed away February 20, 2015 at Great Plains Health.  He was born September 9, 1947 to Tom and Betty (Auhl)  McQuade at Valentine, NE.

Thomas grew up in Valentine and moved with his family and graduated from North Platte High School.  He was employed as the Superintendent for Municipal Light and Water for many years. Thomas set many modular homes.  He loved building.  In his later years he also made many stocking hats. He was united in marriage to Mary Schommer in 1986.  Thomas enjoyed collecting and repairing guns and was an avid woodworker.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; his son, Shawn (Rachelle Allbery) McQuade both of North Platte; two daughters, Cherie (Larry Ault) Doer of Gothenburg and Michelle (Tony Aubushon) McQuade of North Platte; a brother, Tim (Janet) McQuade; two sisters, Bernadette Bales of North Platte and Yvonne (Dan) Connery of Mitchell; six grandchildren, Taylor (Tanner Eberle), Hunter, Cameron, Gage, Sissy and Rylee; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Judy Schaffert.  Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
