ELWOOD, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska authorities are trying to determine what caused a fatal house fire in the town of Elwood over the weekend.

The Gosper County Sheriff’s office says 55-year-old Gary Beck died in the fire at his home early Saturday morning.

Firefighters were called to the home around 2:15 a.m. Saturday, but it was engulfed in flames when they arrived. The home was destroyed.

The Nebraska State Fire Marshall’s office is investigating the fire.
