3 Arrested in South Sioux City Following 4-County Chase

police-lights-redSOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (AP) — Three people have been arrested in South Sioux City after police say they led law enforcement officers on a chase across four northeast Nebraska counties.

The three people, all in their 20s, were arrested Friday.

The chase began with reports of a burglary in Niobrara on Friday morning, then later a carjacking in the Crofton area. Investigators say the suspected pushed a person out of a minivan and sped away in it.

Sheriff’s deputies and the Nebraska State Patrol caught up with the stolen van, and the chase reached speeds of up to 100 mph on U.S. Highway 20 until the van crashed into a South Sioux City discount store. There were no serious injuries.
