Weather permitting, on May 18, Werner Construction will begin a highway improvement project between Brady and Gothenburg, according to the Nebraska Department of Roads.

The project consists of replacing the existing asphalt surface with a concrete overlay.

A 12′ width restriction will be in place during the initial phase, which will end approximately the first part of June.  At that time, Highway 30 traffic will be detoured to I-80.

During the detour, Highway 30 between R.P. 200+91 and 212+76 will be open to local traffic only. The detour is expected to be in effect until fall 2015.

Motorists are reminded to be extra careful in and near highway work zones, and to buckle up, every trip.
