84-Year-Old Dies After Head-On Collision Near Broken Bow

fatal-accidentBROKEN BOW, Neb. (AP) — An 84-year-old man has died after a head-on collision near Broken Bow in central Nebraska.

The accident was reported about 9 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Nebraska Highway 2 and Ryno Road. The Custer County Sheriff’s Office says a westbound pickup driven by Leonard Peterson, of Ansley, turned into the path of an eastbound pickup driven by 54-year-old William Koubek, of Merna. The Sheriff’s Office says Peterson was pronounced dead at Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.

Sheriff Dan Osmond said Thursday that Koubek initially wasn’t treated but did seek medical help later.
