Albeit several years out, the Nebraska Cornhuskers 2018 recruiting class received a commitment from the top recruit in the state of Nebraska on Thursday in Beatrice HS tight end Cameron Jurgens.

Huge addition to the future of #Huskers football tonight! There is no place like Nebraska! #GBR 🔴🌽🏈 — Mike Riley (@Coach_Riley) August 6, 2015
Jurgens is listed as the top recruit for 2018 from the state of Nebraska and the third best tight end prospect in the country. He’s also ranked as the 47th best prospect in the nation overall regardless of position. See Jurgens’ full recruiting profile here.
As a freshman last season at Beatrice High School, Jurgens won the class B state discus title in addition to his football prowess. Despite his initial commitment to Nebraska, expect the recruiting interest in Jurgens from other top programs to be aplenty.
