Edith Lucile “Dude” Boltz, age 88 of North Platte, passed away on August 6, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Dude was born to George D. and Nettie M. (Winters) Ripple on April 12, 1927 at Bethany Hospital in Kansas City, KS. She spent time attending school in Moorefield, NE and later moved to North Platte where she graduated in 1946. She married Raymond E. Boltz at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on June 7, 1949. They were married many wonderful years and traveled to 49 of the US States along with her mother on vacations. She graduated from North Platte Beauty School in 1955 and later went on to own and run her own salon for over 50 years. She also cared for the elderly, including her mother until she passed away at the age of 99. She raised two little girls for a dear friend. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, she spent much time in her many gardens, she enjoyed cooking and canning, genealogy, making scrap books and quilting. Her favorite calling was working and spoiling her precious angels in the infant room at North Platte Community Day Care Center where she was a foster grandparent for more than 10 years. Dude is survived by her brother Buck M. Ripple; nieces and nephews Theresa and Marco Vieyra, Mike and Carol Ripple, Mark Ripple, their children Alana, Sasha, Arnetia, Steven, Jessica, Brooke and Codi; as well as her adopted daughter Donna Jones and her children Amber and Abbey; as well as great grands Joel, Katie, Sam, Ben, Eliciana, Isabella, Jeremiah, Audrianna, Alexavier, Ethan and Valencia. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband Raymond; as well as her sisters-in-law Patricia Shay Ripple and Sandra Davis Ripple; as well as her sweet dog Juicy Goose. Memorials are suggested in her name and online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com. Cremation was chosen and Christian Wake Service will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday August 13, 2015 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday August 14, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Reverend CP Varghese officiating. Inurnment will follow at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery. Those wishing to do so may sign the register book from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday thru Thursday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel which is in charge of arrangements.
