NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball to Host Subway Invite

subway inviteThe North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team will be hosting the Subway Invitational Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22 at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium on the south campus of North Platte Community College.

There will be eight teams from six different states competing in the tournament. The teams competing are: Casper (Wyo.) College, Colby (Kan.) Community College, Eastern Wyoming College, Iowa Central Community College, Northeastern (Colo.) Junior College, Sheridan (Wyo.), Willston (N.D.) State College and the host North Platte Community College.

The tournament will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday.  The Lady Knights will play Sheridan at 3 p.m. and Northeastern at 7 p.m. on Friday.  They will resume play on Saturday at 11 a.m. against Eastern Wyoming and finish the tournament at 3 p.m. against Casper College.

The tournament is the first college athletic event at the remodeled McDonald-Belton Gymnasium.

The tournament also is the debut of Lady Knights volleyball coach Alexa Hopping.

Tournament prices are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors/students.  Day passes are $8 for adults and $6 for seniors/students.  Children under eight are admitted free with paying adult.

The North Platte matches will be broadcast on ESPN 1410 radio or online at www.northplattepost.com.  They will also be live streamed at www.coachesaid.com.
