The North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team dropped two matches on the final day of the Subway Invite losing to Eastern Wyoming in five sets,21-25,25-20,25-20.26-28, 15-13, and Casper (Wyo.) College in three sets,25-16, 25-16, 25-13.
In the first set against Eastern Wyoming, the Lady Knights scored the first three points. Eastern Wyoming rallied back to take a 7-3 lead The Lady Knights tied the match at 10 and led 14-10.
Valerie Most led the Lady Knights with eight kills. Aryn Meisinger and Josie Palmer each contributed six kills.
Shelby Wolever had nine set assists and Megan Chintela had 19 digs to lead the Lady Knights.
Lady Knights head coach Alexa Hopping said, “We need to play from point one to 25. We did a good job serving and blocking.”
The Lady Knights had six solo blocks and 16 assisted blocks led by Jessica Lovitt with one solo and seven assisted blocks.
In the final match against Casper the Lady Knights were led in kills by Most with six kills and Makenna Ketter had five. Most also recorded 11 digs. The Lady Knights were led in digs by Chintala with 12.
The Lady Knights drop to 0-4 on the season. They will return to action August 28-29 at the McCook Community College Invite. The games on Saturday will be aired on ESPN 1410 radio or online at www.northplattepost.com.
