NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball Go 3-0 on First Day of McCook Invite

npcc volleyball 2The North Platte Community College Lady Knights started the McCook Community College off right by going 3-0 on the first day. They defeated Dodge City Community College 25-23,25-15,25-19, Trinidad State Junior College, 25-17,25-15,25-23, and Lamar Community College, 27-25,25-15,25-21.

The win against Dodge City was Lady Knights head coach Alexa Hopping’s first win.

In the first match of the day against the Dodge City Lady Conquistadors, the Lady Knights were led in kills by MaKenna Ketter with nine kills.  Aryn Meisinger and Jessica Lovitt added eight.

Meisinger also had 19 set assists to lead the Lady Knights as well as five service aces.  Megan Chintala had 18 digs.

In the second match against the Trinidad State Lady Trojans, Josie Palmer had seven kills and Valerie Most added six.  Shelby Wolever had 11 set assists. Meisinger, Most and Chintala each had eight digs for the Lady Knights.

In the nightcap against the Lamar Community College Lady Lopers,  Ketter recorded 11 kills to lead the Lady Knights.  Most added 8 kills.  Chintala had 21 digs against the Lady Lopers.  Meisinger had 16 set assists and Wolever had 13 assists.

Lady Knight Coach Hopping said, “We played really well today and fought through some tough battles.  I was very pleased that we finished all of the games in three.  It shows mental toughness and growth.”

The Lady Knights continue action tomorrow at 9 am when they look to avenge a 3-2 loss a week ago to Eastern Wyoming College.  They will finish the tournament by playing the host McCook Community College at 11 am.
