Elizabeth Irene Kuhlmann, age 92, of North Platte, died August 28, 2015 at Centennial Park Retirement Village. She was born on May 8, 1923 in Lexington, NE to Ralph and Louise (Bachemeier) Mills. Elizabeth graduated from North Platte High School and began work at Walther’s Office Supply. On February 6, 1949, Elizabeth married Victor Kuhlmann in North Platte. The couple resided in North Platte their entire lives. She then worked at the North Platte Telegraph in the advertising department for many years.
Elizabeth was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, belonging to several church groups, and the American Legion Auxillary. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, ceramics, and traveling. Elizabeth will be remembered for her great cooking. She was always baking cookies, pies and cinnamon rolls, and giving them to many people, especially at church and at Our Redeemer Lutheran School.
Survivors include her children, Elizabeth “Beth” (David) Clark of Elbert, Co, Judith “Judy” Poore of Lincoln, and Susan “Sue” Millard of Lincoln; 9 grandchildren, Katrina (Bruce) Lamirane of Denver, Matthew Clark of Loveland, Co, Daniel (Tina) Clark of Falcon, CO, Cynthia (Allen) Mook of Dallas, TX, Jennifer (Matt) Fencl of Lincoln, Jeffrey Poore of Omaha, Kyle (Shelley) Poore of Lincoln, Jacob Millard of Scottsdale, AZ and Molly Millard of Peachtree City, GA; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Victor in 1991, brother, John Mills; sister, Betty Wilson; a grandson, Andrew Millard, and two sons in laws, Larry Poore, and Tom Millard. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday September 2, 2015 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Wiest officiating. Burial will be at the North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
