Lincoln, Neb.- The Nebraska football team continued its week of preparation on Tuesday afternoon, as the Husker offense practiced inside Memorial Stadium while the defense practiced outside on the Ed and Joyanne Gass practice fields for two hours.

Nebraska offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf met with the media following Tuesday’s practice, mentioning the Huskers have been preparing for a stout BYU Cougar defensive attack during preparations for the season opener.

“They have always been good up front, that front seven is a challenge, they are tough, physical inside and they are big,” Langsdorf said. “We have faced this defense before and they are well-coached and they have got guys that fly around and hit.”

Langsdorf added that the Cougar defense brings multiple pressure looks, which sometimes can give the offense headaches.

“They give you a lot of problems in protection in the run game. It will be a tough game for sure,” he said. “Our guys have been practicing well, we just have to continue to work on handling the pressure and getting the guys picked up and being able to run the ball.”

According to Langsdorf, it will be critical for the offensive line to be on its game against the attacking BYU defense, something Langsdorf said they have been working on during practice.

“We have had a lot of good looks against them through our own defense in camp, it is a new group that is working together and getting comfortable playing with each other,” Langsdorf said.  “They have done a nice job, they have handled our pressure stuff lately.”

The NU wide receiver corps is almost back to full health finally, as receivers Brandon Reilly, Sam Burtch and Taariq Allen were all on the practice field Tuesday.

“Guys are fresher too, they don’t have to go as many in a row, so I think that part of it is nice. It is good to get the guys back and feeling good and getting ready to play Saturday.”
