Lenora B. Lange, of North Platte, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at Linden Court. She was born March 6, 1925 at Ashby NE, the third child to Leonard and Nellie (Johnston) Babb. When she was a child, the family moved to a farm near Tryon. She attended country school until she went to Tyron High School where she graduated. Betty attended Business school in Denver and upon returning she married Don Lange August 20, 1945 in the Methodist parsonage in North Platte. They moved to Sutherland where she worked at the hospital as a nurse aide. Later they moved to NP and Betty worked in the credit department at Montgomery Wards before going to work at the Union Pacific Employee Credit Union. There Betty started as a clerk and advanced to Treasurer, then Manager before retiring in 1987. After retirement she continued to serve on the supervisory committee and after 45 years total service retired in 2004. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist church for over 50 years and a member of the United Methodist Women group. She was a treasurer for the North Platte Ostomy Chapter for a number of years. Don and Betty enjoyed playing cards with neighbors and friends and she continued playing cards at the church after Don’s death in 2002. Betty loved animals and spoiled her dogs over the years. She is survived by 3 nieces; 4 nephews; great nieces and nephews; and many good friends. She was preceded in death by husband her, Donald; her parents; 4 sisters; and one brother. Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at the Miller Cemetery near Tryon. Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church, Miller Cemetery or North Platte Animal Shelter. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
